100% electronic proxy voting is available thanks to France Identité-certified digital identity

French citizens can once again benefit from a complete online proxy voting for the French general elections held on 30 June and 7 July this year thanks to France Identité-certified digital identity.

What exactly is certified digital identity*?


Your digital identity is certified once your identity has been checked by comparing your fingerprints with the ones integrated in your identification document. This procedure ensures that the France Identité user is the rightful owner of the French identity card attached to the account.

You can benefit from a totally electronic proxy voting for the French general elections on 30 June and 7 July this year thanks to the France Identité app and certified digital identity. You no longer need to go to a police station or gendarmerie to have your identity checked when appointing a proxy to vote for you, you can do it directly on the ma procuration site (in French).

 

Please note, you must wait until you receive the result of your notification (within 48 hours) to electronically appoint a proxy to vote for you.

*For security reasons, only iPhones with an iOS 16.6 or higher operating system and smartphones with an Android 11 or higher operating system can be used to obtain France Identité account certification.
