Centres temporaires d'accueil (CTA - Temporary Registration Centres) 2023: Overview and prospects

These "one-stop" campaigns saw the rollout of 5 or 10 dispositifs de recueil (DR - fingerprinting devices) on a single site, based on the choice of 37 volunteer municipalities, for an initial four-month period. 245 additional fingerprinting devices (DR) were, as such, rolled out in an enterprising way across France in just a few weeks.
This initiative led to the creation of around 200,000 additional appointments for users in four months and helped reduce the average time required to obtain an appointment.
At the end of these 4 months, and to address needs identified on a local scale, in coordination with the prefects, Temporary Registration Centres were offered several options:
- extend the entire initiative for two more months;
- keep all or some of the fingerprinting devices (DR) used for the Temporary Registration Centres (CTA) as permanent fingerprinting devices to meet the area's needs over the long term;
- opt for gradual closing ensuring, where required, that a few fingerprinting devices (DR) were still made available for issuing more identification documents and for more fingerprinting.
Eleven centres decided to pursue this initiative:
- Creil (60)
- Saône (71)
- Créteil (94)
- St-Grégoire & Cesson-Sevigné (35)
- Bayonne (64)
- Saint-Priest (69)
- Le Havre (76)
- Nice (06)
- Laval (53)
- Toulouse (31)
