Only a few days left to electronically appoint a proxy to vote for you

European elections will take place on 9 June this year. If you are unable to go to your polling station, you can appoint a proxy to vote for you.

Since 11 April this year, citizens have been able to carry out this procedure from home without having to go to a police station or gendarmerie. How? By using certified digital identity.

Certified digital identity enables you to remotely carry out procedures that previously could not be done electronically given their level of sensitivity. Certified digital identity is compulsory if you wish to electronically appoint a proxy to vote for you.

Certification of your digital identity is based on identity checking carried out at your local town hall. Once you have applied for your identity to be certified via your app, which just takes a few clicks, all you need is a few minutes with a local municipal administration officer to carry out this check. Within 48 hours after your check in the town hall, you will be notified by email and in your app of the result of your certification application.
