For the most sensitive administrative procedures that require an increased level of security such as purchasing a training course via MonCompteFormation (My training account), accessing MaPrimeRénov (French State energy renovation aid), viewing your medical records and electronic registered mail, the French State launched FranceConnect+ in 2021, an even more secure version of FranceConnect that offers greater fraud protection and meets the security requirements of these procedures.

If you wish to use France Identité to authenticate to a service via FranceConnect+, you must have a France Identité-certified digital identity. Certified digital identity provides the same level of guarantee as in-person identity checking. The certification procedure is currently available in over 1,000 town halls in France.

How do you authenticate with France Identité?

When you need to authenticate on the service you wish to use:

  1. Click the FranceConnect+ button and select the option "Se connecter en utilisant ma carte d’identité" (Log in using my French identity card).
  2. Scan the QR code from your France Identité mobile app.
  3. Enter your personal code and read your contactless French identity card.
